my why

Becoming a mom changed everything for me.

Before I had kids of my own, I was all about photographing high school seniors—chasing sunsets and golden light with teens on the edge of their next big adventure. But the moment I became a mother, something shifted. It was like I was reintroduced to myself through a new lens—one that sees beauty in the chaos, in the quiet snuggles, in the wild giggles, and even in the meltdowns.

As a mom, I remember being so nervous to book a family session. I’d think, What if I spend all this money and my kids lose their minds? What if they don’t listen, and the photographer gets frustrated or gives up? (Spoiler alert: every photographer I’ve ever worked with has been wonderful—but still, that worry lived in my head.) That’s what we do as moms, right? We carry it all, overthink it all, and hope our kids feel loved through it all.

That’s where my love for family photography began. I started photographing my own kids, then slowly other families, and guess what? I loved it. I loved the chaos, the messiness, the realness. I loved chasing toddlers, picking wildflowers, stomping through tall grass, dancing and laughing and just letting kids be kids. I fell in love with the way moms instinctively pull their babies close, and the way dads wrestle and play. These are the memories that matter.

And the best part? That moment at the end of a session when a mom hugs me and says, “Thank you. You didn’t judge us. You were patient. You made it easy.” That’s when I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. Because I get it. I’m a mom to two feral little humans myself.

So let’s create some magic together, momma. No stress, no pressure—just love, laughter, and the real moments that tell your story. You're doing better than you think, and I’ve got you.

Love you, bye!
